Digital Transformation: An Opportunity to Create a Better Office Experience
Organisations going through digital transformation may be looking at it from a products and services perspective. However, that ignores the challenges and opportunities around creating hybrid and collaborative workspaces that employees will love.

I think there’s a really interesting challenge, which we haven’t really seen start yet around digital transformation and the reason that digital transformation will become important within the context of an office.
For me, the reason for that is based around having the ability to create an experience and giving me access to an environment which is fundamentally better than what I am able to achieve when I’m in my home office.
And don’t get me wrong, home offices are great. I mean, I’ve got two screens set up now in my home office and I can look at multiple documents and I have a sit-stand desk so I can enjoy sitting or standing depending upon my preference.
But actually, when it comes to digital transformation and the idea of innovating – collaborating on, say, a brainstorming topic or coming up with a brand new concept for something – that’s actually quite difficult to do in a truly collaborative way, embracing people’s different preferences around how they want to communicate and ideate on the task.
So, the advantage of looking at an office space for this task is that the organisation can invest in creating an experience where a combination of the hardware (the screens for want of a better way of putting it) the microphones, the cameras, and all the other parts of the solution that make it into a hybrid collaborative room can be defined and controlled by the organisation…
… And will hopefully create an experience which is better than what that employee can experience when they work from home.
And by understanding the data around how frequently those rooms are used, you can create that sense of community and sense of buzz around coming into the office to use the new innovation room or the new ideation suite – or whatever you’ve decided to call it – depending upon the task that people can perform in that space.

GoBright is very useful in the way that it can be incorporated with other technologies to create that overall smart office space.
So, for example, GoBright is very useful for allowing an employee to be able to find the right type of space for their activity.
If it’s a meeting room, for example, they might be looking by capacity, by what equipment’s inside, for example, but what happens when the individual then walks into that room?
So, for example, GoBright has room control, which allows us to automatically turn on the technology in the room. But also, if the organisation are thinking about the actual technology in there – the screen in the room, the video conferencing technology, for example – all of those elements feed back data, which the organisation can use to make changes. This may be things like the video conference platform the employees tend to use most of all, but also items such as how long will the rooms be used for, how many people are in the room… camera technology and also the UC technology can feed that data alongside GoBright’s occupancy data, to be able to generate firm analytics and be able to make changes to the office in response.
