Revolutionising Education: How ActiveFloor and Ascentae Paved a New Path for Interactive Learning at BETT 2025

The BETT 2025 exhibition, held this January in London, showcased a wealth of innovative educational technologies. ActiveFloor, supported by Ascentae, stood out for its dynamic interactive solutions that blend physical activity with learning. Their offerings captivated attendees and highlighted the evolving landscape of educational tools designed to foster engagement and holistic student development.

In May 2024, Ascentae, a leading distributor of interactive technology solutions, announced a strategic partnership with ActiveFloor, a Danish pioneer in dynamic interactive floor solutions. This collaboration aims to bring ActiveFloor’s innovative products to UK educational institutions through Ascentae’s extensive partner network. The partnership promotes movement and collaborative learning through immersive play, enhancing children’s physical activity, social skills, and teamwork across various subjects.

On the Floor Reactions

Attendees at BETT 2025 enthusiastically responded to the ActiveFloor solutions. Educators and administrators praised the seamless integration of physical activity with curriculum-based learning, noting the potential for these tools to enhance student engagement and motivation. The interactive nature of the products was highlighted as a significant advantage, fostering an environment where students can learn through play, thereby improving retention and understanding.

In primary and secondary education, interactive floor solutions offer numerous benefits. They transform traditional learning spaces into dynamic environments where students can play educational games that promote cognitive and physical development. Such tools enhance coordination and motor skills through movement-based activities, support teamwork and social interaction, and make learning more engaging by incorporating play into the curriculum. This approach not only aids in knowledge retention but also addresses the need for increased physical activity among students.

Interactive floor solutions in Special Educational Needs environments provide tailored support for students with diverse learning requirements. These tools can be customised to accommodate various abilities, offering sensory-rich experiences that aid in developing motor skills, spatial awareness, and social interaction. The adaptability of interactive floors allows SENCOs to create inclusive learning activities that cater to individual needs, enhancing engagement and facilitating effective learning outcomes for students with special educational needs.

PE and Sports Premium

The UK government’s PE and Sport Premium is a funding initiative to enhance physical education and promote active lifestyles among primary-aged pupils. For the 2024 to 2025 academic year, schools with 17 or more eligible pupils receive a base sum of £16,000, with an additional £10 allocated per pupil. This funding is intended to build sustainable improvements in PE and sports provisions, encouraging schools to develop or add to the physical activities they offer. Investing in interactive solutions like those from Ascentae and ActiveFloor aligns with the premium’s objectives by integrating physical activity with engaging educational content, thereby fostering a holistic approach to student well-being.
